PRIVACY POLICY — AI Cutout
Last updated: 10 September 2026
AI Cutout is a photo editor made by Neonix Apps. It has no account and asks you for nothing about yourself. The free version shows ads, and this policy says exactly what that means, in plain words. Where it says "we", it means Neonix Apps.
THE SHORT VERSION
• Your photos are never uploaded. Not to us, not to an advertiser, not to anyone.
• We do not collect, store or receive any information about you. There is no account, no email field and no analytics.
• The free version shows ads. The advertising software receives your phone's advertising ID and some technical details about your device, and this policy names every company that receives them.
• You are asked for your advertising choices before the first ad, and you can change or withdraw them at any time in Settings → Privacy.
YOUR PHOTOS
Photos you open stay on your phone. The AI models that erase, find people and text, remove backgrounds and enlarge photos are included inside the app, so every edit happens on your phone's own processor and works with no network connection at all. The app does not have permission to browse your photo library. You choose one photo at a time through Android's own photo picker, and the app only ever sees that one.
The saved result goes into your gallery. If you share it, it goes to the app you pick, and nowhere else. The tool that finds text only works out where writing is in the picture; it does not read the words. The fill uses the texture of the scene around your selection, invents nothing, and has no prompt box.
Photos often carry the place they were taken. By default AI Cutout removes GPS coordinates from anything you save. You can turn that off in Settings → Export. This is separate from, and unrelated to, the approximate location an advertising company may work out from your internet address (see below).
No advertising company receives your photo, any part of it, or anything worked out from it.
ADVERTISING
The free version of AI Cutout is paid for by ads: a short video before an AI tool runs, and a banner on the home screen. Repair, Crop and Adjust never show an ad, and no ad ever appears while you save. If an ad cannot be shown, for whatever reason, the tool runs anyway.
The ads are delivered by advertising software inside the app. When it runs, it sends the following to the companies listed at the end of this policy:
• your phone's advertising ID — a resettable number, not your name
• your device model, Android version, language and screen size
• whether the phone is on Wi-Fi or mobile data
• your internet (IP) address, from which an approximate location may be worked out
• the name and version of this app
• which ads were shown to you and whether you tapped or watched them
• your advertising choices, so that they are respected
For this the app holds the advertising-ID permission and the permissions to read the network and Wi-Fi state. They are used by the advertising software and by nothing else. Each advertising company is an independent controller of the information it receives and uses it under its own privacy policy, linked at the end.
The advertising software is started only after your choices are known, never before. It is not started at all while you have an active AI Cutout Plus subscription.
YOUR ADVERTISING CHOICES
Before the first ad is loaded you are shown a consent form if the law where you are requires one — in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and in US states with an applicable privacy law. Depending on what you choose, ads are personalised, not personalised, or not shown at all. If your choices do not allow ads, the advertising software is not started on that device, and every tool still runs.
You can re-open the form or withdraw your consent at any time: Settings → Privacy → "Ad privacy choices" or "Withdraw consent". Withdrawing takes one tap and does not require reinstalling the app.
You can also reset or delete your phone's advertising ID in Android's own settings, under Privacy → Ads (the exact path varies by manufacturer). Deleting it stops every app on the phone, including this one, from receiving it.
AI CUTOUT PLUS
AI Cutout Plus is a subscription that removes the ads. It is bought and managed entirely through Google Play, under Google's own privacy policy. We never see your card, your billing address or your name. There is no account to create.
Google Play tells the app whether your subscription is active, and the app keeps that answer on your phone so it knows not to show ads. Nothing about the purchase is sent to us, because there is no server of ours to send it to.
WHAT IS STORED ON YOUR PHONE
Your settings — default export format, whether location data is removed, haptics, theme, the Upscale limit, your subscription status and your advertising choices — are stored on your phone only. They are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data. Android may include these settings in your phone's own backup to your Google account; that backup is made and encrypted by Android, not by us, and we cannot read it.
WHAT THE APP CONNECTS TO
The app holds the internet permission. Two things use it: the advertising software described above, and Google Play for the subscription. Nothing else in the app opens a connection, and a check on every build enforces that. The app contains no analytics and no crash-reporting service. If a future version adds one, this policy will say so before that version is published.
On Android 8 and 9 the app also asks for storage permission when you first save, because those versions need it to write a photo to the gallery. Newer versions of Android do not, and the app does not ask.
REPORTING A PROBLEM WITH AN AI RESULT
Settings has a way to report a problem with an AI result. It opens your own email app with a message that you write and send yourself. Nothing is attached automatically — not your photo, not its location on your phone, and no identifier.
CHILDREN
AI Cutout is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. Because it shows ads, it is rated for users aged 13 and over and is not enrolled in Google Play's Teacher Approved programme.
YOUR RIGHTS
We hold no information about you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on request. The advertising companies named below hold what they receive under their own policies, and your rights to access, correct, delete or object to that processing are exercised with them. Where you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland you may also complain to your data-protection authority. Where a US state privacy law applies: we do not sell personal information; advertising companies' use of your advertising ID for personalised ads may count as "sharing" under some state laws, and the consent form above is where you opt out of it.
The advertising companies named below may process what they receive in countries other than yours, including the United States, under their own safeguards.
CHANGES
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the version inside the app changes at the same time. Anything that changes what is collected is stated here before the version that does it is published.
